Founding of the WMA – in 1999 Bill and Cherry officially founded the World Missions Academy (WMA), a program of basic training in missions, rooted in the local church, and focused on equipping churches for the Great Commission. The pilot program was opened in Gilgal Evangelical Free Church, their local church in Maracay, Venezuela.

Various roles – since the founding of the WMA, Bill and Cherry have served as:

  • Directors of the Academy
  • Instructors, especially in the Academy’s more-advanced courses
  • Researchers, analysts and producers of many of the WMA’s texts and materials in the area of missions, evangelism, and discipleship
  • Mentors of key individuals who have demonstrated an interest and giftedness in the area of missions
  • Mentors of key individuals who have demonstrated an interest and giftedness in teaching WMA courses and in expanding the WMA into other parts of Latin America and the world
