The problem
A comparison of the map of evangelicals with the map of the least evangelized shows that many born-again evangelical believers, especially those living in the Americas, will never have much direct contact with the majority of the world’s least evangelized. They live isolated in very different worlds, separated by geography, religion, culture and language.
The primary strategy
It is true that believers in areas like the Americas do encounter a small number of the least-unevangelized who have crossed these barriers and have come into contact with the context of these believers (due to an international education, a business venture, displacement because of adverse living conditions, or other similar reasons). These contacts ought to be maximized for sharing the Gospel. However, the Church should never adopt this form of outreach as its primary strategy for reaching this lost population. The Great Commission clearly states that the Church should go to share the Gospel. That must be its primary strategy.
The solution
The solution is found in the Church sending evangelical missionaries as its ambassadors. Through them, the Church can and does cross these barriers and takes the Gospel directly to an otherwise isolated lost world.
