With 24% of the world population, Islam is the world’s second-largest religion. The five largest blocs of followers are in:

  • Pakistan – 216 million (12% of all Islam)
  • India – 205 million (11% of all Islam)
  • Indonesia – 204 million (11% of all Islam)
  • Bangladesh – 166 million (9% of all Islam)
  • Nigeria – 89 million (5% of all Islam)

These five countries represent almost one-half of the total Islamic population.
